Drivers and workers must follow safety procedures and practices as established by Hewings Transportation Inc. Company Safety Policy, the Highway Traffic Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in the USA, Hours of Work (Log Books) and Vehicle Inspection regulations and other applicable legislations.
Everyone is required to see to it that no matter what the job is, it is done safely with regard both to others and to oneself. Recognizing driver fatigue and reduced alertness and knowing how to deal with the risks presented by this scenario are essential parts of safety. The overall goal is to reduce accidents, injuries and fatalities.
